DALLAS RYSAVY
Dallas Rysavy is a founding partner and CEO at Marlin Operating. Previous to Marlin Operating, Dallas most recently spent 2 years as VP of Geology for Point Energy Partners where he led both the geological and geophysical departments. As part of the Point team, he was involved in a pilot program using Schlumberger new unmanned “Rig of the Future” which drilled 3 Wolfcamp horizontals in Ward County, Texas and added over 3,500 bbl/day to the company production. As part of his 18 years of industry experience he, alongside David, played a key role in all aspects of the startup of Athlon Energy, helping lead the company to its sale for $7.1 billion to Encana Oil and Gas only four years after inception. He then led Encana’s geoscience group in integrated reservoir characterization studies, field development, and acquisition analysis. Dallas also has worked with Denbury Resources, Encore Acquisition Company, and Neset Consulting. Dallas has vast experience in horizontal drilling, field operations, tight gas plays, and waterflood analysis. Dallas holds a geology degree from the University of North Dakota. Dallas is a former professional football player in the Canadian Football League and in his spare time enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, mountain biking, and Crossfit.
JOSE ROSALES
Jose Rosales is a founding partner and COO at Marlin Operating. In his 15 year experience in the industry, he has held multiple positions in Drilling & Completion, Production Optimization and Operations in conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Prior to Marlin Operating, Jose continued his career as a leading consultant with small firms working the Barnett, Eagleford, and Wolfcamp unconventional plays. He has held leading roles with Lilis Energy as a VP of Operations, as well as at Clearfork Resources as Manager of Operations, both in West Texas Delaware and Midland Basin. Jose also worked with Denbury and Hess Corporation leading CO2 and Carbon Management programs in Enhanced Oil Recovery, primarily developing CO2 floods increasing production from mature fields and developing reserves otherwise undeveloped if not for CO2. His vast experience in Carbon Management gained Jose valuable knowledge in reservoir management, contractor safety, and social responsibility. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University. In his spare time, Jose enjoys quality family time.
DAVID MCCLELLAND
David McClelland is a founding partner at Marlin Operating and brings 18 years of oil and gas industry experience to the company. Prior to Marlin Operating, David was a founding partner and the Vice President of Geosciences and Drilling at Athlon Energy where he was instrumental in the startup, initial public offering, and sale of the company. With his innovative foresight, Athlon Energy was an industry leader in the horizontal Wolfberry play in west Texas. Before Athlon, David was the Geological Manager of the Southern Region at Encore Acquisitions over exploration and development in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and New Mexico. His other experience includes various geological positions at Cross Timbers Energy, Union Pacific Resources and Anadarko Petroleum where he was chosen to geosteer the first horizontal wells in Qatar for the company. In 2015, he was named Best Geoscientist by TIPRO, Texas Monthly Magazine and AAPG through their Texas Top Producers awards. David earned both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Geology from the University of Texas at Arlington. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering at his church, mountain biking, high performance driving and traveling.
